Discovering Pottery Artistry

Hampton's Pottery, based in Hilbert, Perth, Western Australia, hubby and wife duo are new to the pottery world.  With just 1 couples workshop and a month of classes we were both in love with the joy of this craft and probably the careless mess that comes with it.   

 

Plenty of hours practicing and encouraging each other kept us motivated to learn more skills.  It's not all a perfect world as any potter will know, we have had many disasters, failures and really weird kiln stories.  Yet when it all falls together and your very own creations emerge, it's almost like meeting your child for the first time!  Well, alright maybe a slight exaggeration  but it's very exciting!

 

We primarily use wheel-built techniques with additional handcrafted designs. Our pottery is mostly home use with the usual coffee cups, bowls and platters but also stretching to mozzi coil holders, incense stick pots and melt pots for scented waxes along with anything else that survives the kiln.

 

Stay tuned for our upcoming physical shop and teaching workshops, as we expand to bring the joy of pottery to more enthusiasts... well this is our dream for our future so we hope it can become a reality soon.
